Edmonton based company Simpatico Makers combine 100% ethically produced and locally sourced beeswax and thin 100% cotton to create reusable, renewable and customizable cut-to-size beeswax food wraps as a sustainable alternative to plastic!
These comes in a long 1 meter roll in three different sizes, to be cut for your preferred use (large platters, large squares for plate covers, small squares to wrap half used produce, rectangles to wrap cheese, etc). These can also be used as a funnel by making it into a cone, plant pot liners, snack packets, or to wrap your travel soap, bar shampoos, or toothbrush.)
These come in a variety of colours and prints, so we will choose one for you - no requests sorry! But it’s okay because they’re all super cute. If you’re located in Edmonton and want to pick up, you can come by the store and choose your favourite then!
Available in three lengths:
- 17cm × 100cm
- Great size for cut items such as lemons, onions, avacado, apple, cheese slices, cookies.
- 25cm × 100cm
- Recommend cut rectangular. Ideal for sandwiches, larger fruit, blocks of cheese or butter. Can make into small bags.
- 36cm × 100cm
- Recommend cut rectangular. Ideal for covering plates or platters, wrapping bread. Can make larger bags.
No returns/exchanges for these due the the nature of the product.
Care and use:
Unroll and cut into desired sizes. Gently pre-wash in cold water and dish soap, hang to dry. Crumple wrap into a ball and open. Ready to wrap! The heat of your hand will help mould the wrap. Wash with cool water and dish soap between uses.
Cracks in wrap will appear with use. Wraps can last up to a year dependant on use. To renew, place it between two pieces of parchment paper, iron it and it will be like new! (if there are stains, don’t worry, it just means you are using it).
Beeswax wraps must not be used on raw meat or raw fish. Keep away from hot water, dishwasher, microwave and other heat sources.
Flammable. Keep away from open flame.
